Archie served our nation as a Russian Linguist in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed Casinos, his pontoon boat, traveling, especially to Thailand, roller coasters, Louis L’Amour Books, and life. Anyone who has known Archie Simmons has never said a bad word about him. Most of all, Archie loved his wife Liza and his son Curtis. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Archie is survived by his loving wife, Liza Simmons of the home; a son, Curtis Simmons of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his siblings, Teri Simmons and nephew Bailey Simmons of Lowell, Arkansas, Martha Jones-Newcombe of McKenney, Virginia, Mary Hernandez of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ray Simmons and wife Anna of Tyler, Texas, David Marney and wife Julie of Pryor, Oklahoma, and L.D. Marney also of Pryor, Oklahoma; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 7, 2015, at New Life Church, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Pastor Tim Estes officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
