Jean retired from College of the Ozarks Food Purchasing and was actively involved in community activities, including Branson Dinner Club member, Red Hat Society chapter, Cox Branson volunteer and longtime member of Branson United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, eating chocolate, reading and wearing her favorite jewelry. With a warm heart, Jean loved her family and friends dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Maynard “Pete” Peterson and husband, Edward Daniell; four brothers; three sisters; one grandson, John Cline; and numerous in-laws.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Vida Leyland of Branson, Missouri; daughter, Vicki Cloin and husband Fred of Branson, Missouri; a son, Bruce Peterson of Branson, Missouri; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Yount and husband Phil of Republic, Missouri, Jeffrey Leyland and wife Heather of College Station, Texas, Sara Johns and husband Jason of Wentzville, Missouri, and Ana Cline of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Luke Owings of Willard, Missouri; Faith Leyland and Peyton Leyland of College Station, Texas; and Natasha Johns, Garrett Johns, Alexandra Johns and Connor Johns of Wentzville, Missouri. Other survivors include two sister-in-laws, Doris Markland of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Evonne Welp of Georgetow, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at held from 1:30-2:00 p.m. with memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Branson United Methodist Church with Reverend Eric Derks officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Jean Daniell may be made to College of the Ozarks and Branson United Methodist Church.
