He was preceded in death by his mom, Alta Valentine Dolan.
Bill’s early years were spent between Lansing, Iowa, and St. Paul, Minnesota. He joined the Navy when he was 16 and served 4 years in Guam. Bill loved to play a good game of cribbage with the goal of being the best cribbage player this side of the Mississippi. He also loved bowling and was an avid golfer, playing on numerous well-known courses in California and throughout the U.S.
He is survived by his wife and three sons, Kenneth (Roberta) Valentine, Keith (Millie) Valentine and Richard Poulsen; three grandchildren, Sean Valentine, Brian Valentine and Kelly (Ben) Kloos; one great-grandchild; as well as other family and friends.
A special thanks to Dr. Randall Halley, Seasons Hospice and staff for the wonderful care they provided for our family. A celebration of life is planned at the family’s home on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 3:00-6:00 pm. He will be missed by so many. His loving wife of 50 years, Jan Valentine, will miss him dearly. “I love you, Billy . . . I love you more, Janney.”
