Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He earned his master’s degree in Psychology and worked as an Assistant Registrar at Drake University. As an active member in his community, Bob was also a realtor, served on the Board of Adjustment for Taney County, was a College of the Ozarks Associate, acted as Vice President for the Taney County Republicans and was on the Board of Directors of the Polk County, Iowa, Educational Credit Union and a Boy Scout Commissioner. He is known for making people smile and for bringing laughter wherever he went. He loved his family dearly. His past times included volunteering, attending Branson shows, C of O basketball and fishing. With a sensitive, kind heart, Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and was creatively handy. Bob loved his church(FBC Branson)and was an active volunteer there. Most importantly, Bob was an honest, Godly man who “let his Light shine” for the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lee Hanzelon of the home; a daughter, Kathy Moore and husband Tim of Temperance, Michigan; grandchildren, Jessica Wells and husband Blake of Toledo, Ohio, Katy Moore of Temperance, Michigan; a greatgrandchild, J.T. Wells; and a brother, Darryl Hanzelon of Jacksonville, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, March 13, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Branson with Pastor Neil Franks officiating. Inurnment, with full military honors, will follow at 2:00 pm at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
