Bruce was a Nascar fan, enjoyed travel and was an expert at making pumpkin pies. He was self-employed in heating and air conditioning as well as cable contracting in fiber optics. His greatest love was his family and his dear grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claire Chalup.
Bruce is survived his loving wife of 31 years, Karen Chalup of the home; a son, Jason Wisely and wife Pauline of Galena, Missouri; daughter Lisa Sherfy and husband Scot of Shell Knob, Missouri; and daughter Jessica Millman and husband David of Bellevue, Nebraska. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, including Jason’s children Damien, Aiyana and Karina; Lisa’s children Brandon, Holly and Addison; and Jessica’s children Christopher, Alyssa and Bryana; and one great-grandchild on the way; three brothers: Jackson Chalup and wife Tammy of Windsor Heights, Iowa, Larry Chalup of York, Nebraska, and Jerry Chalup of Sioux City, Iowa; his mother, Phyllis Schneiders of Sioux City, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering is planned for Friday, June 16th from 12:00-6:00 p.m. at Colby Park, 6900 School Street, Windsor Heights, Iowa.
