Chris graduated Northeast High School, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1935. After Graduation, Chris then attended Huff Business College. During her working years, she worked for TWA Airlines, H&R Block and Silver Dollar City in Branson. She was an artist, gardener, golfer and loved to travel. Chris enjoyed cooking, canning, and quilting. In her 30 years in Branson, she read over 2,500 books from the Taney Hills Community Library in Branson. Chris will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Berkeley Douglas Fontaine, Jr.; and a son, Berkeley Douglas Fontaine III.
Chris is survived by her daughter, Lynn Fontaine of Hollister, Missouri; her extended family through a life-long friendship, David and Joyce Clemenson of Hollister, Missouri, Jim Clemenson of Tucson, Arizona, and Dee Clemenson-Rosmis of Branson, Missouri; Cousins, Cal and Marcia Townsend of Valley Center, California; and a dear friend, Milton Fletcher of Prairie Village, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm Sunday, November 23, 2014, at her daughter Lynn’s home in Hollister with Pastor Tom Wilcox officiating. Lynn can be reached at (417) 239-3353 for directions. Burial in White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, Missouri, at a later time.
