Cookie attended Hickey Secretarial School in St. Louis. After graduation, she spent her career working for the Monsanto Corporation. An avid quilter, Cookie loved animals, antiquing and spending time on the Black River fishing. She was a talented gardener with lots of friends and a generous heart for people. Most of all, Cookie loved her family, was strong in her faith to God and her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Ahillen.
Cookie is survived by a daughter, Missi Hogan of Lampe, Missouri; a son, Patrick Hogan of St. Louis, Missouri; her step-children, Bob Ahillen of Effingham, Illinois, Nancy Forehand, Marilyn Kuechler and Barb Ahillen, all of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Alicia Wayne and Tony Yakich, Tim Ahillen, Ryan Forehand, Emily Forehand, Dustin Kuechler, Wayne Kuechler and Katie Meyer; two brothers, David Moenkhaus and wife Betty of Florida, Norman Moenkhaus and wife Susan of St. Louis, Missouri; her nieces and nephews, Peter Moenkhaus, Susan Gower, Jeff Moenkhaus, Julie Sindora and Nancy Ackenhausen.
Mass will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Our Lady of the Cove Catholic Church, Kimberling City, Missouri, with the Rev. Fr. Suresh Samala officiating. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life in the fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, Branson, Missouri.
