Dennis attended Arizona State University, where he earned his degree. He was a correctional officer during his career. Dennis was a historian and studied Western and Native American history. This served him well later in life when he worked as a tour guide in the west and a cave guide at Silver Dollar City. Dennis enjoyed collecting antique firearms, desert survival and traveling. He had a deep love for animals, especially the cats he and Judy rescued. Dennis had a large collection of die cast cars. He was very well liked and charming. Most of all, Dennis loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-brother, Dennis Keeler, and an infant brother, Cassie Keeler.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Judy Pruitt, a long time resident of Reeds Spring, Missouri; a daughter, Veronica Nicole Pruitt of Phoenix, Arizona; a step-son, Sam McCallie of Gilbert, Arizona; three grandchildren, Devon Raskin, Xavier Pruitt-M’Vemba and Zane M’Vemba; a sister, Bobbie Jean Banks; two brothers, Bob Keeler and Andrew Keeler; as well as several nieces and nephews.
