Don spent 30 years with the California Highway Patrol, retiring on October 21, 1995. After retirement, he and Denise moved to Missouri. Don enjoyed listening to Dixieland music and watching sports of all kinds, including the Cardinals and the Raiders. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and shooting. Most of all, Don loved his family, especially his German Shepherd, Magnum, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Denise Bevins of Branson, Missouri; a daughter, Christine Trumbly and husband Jeff of Santa Rosa, California, a daughter, Michelle Bevins of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, Cedric Bevins of Branson, Missouri; a daughter, Savohna Pace and husband Robert of Branson, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Anthony Spriggs, Tiffany Spriggs, Abby Strobeck, Rachel O’Kelly, Cooper Pace, Brody Pace, and Khloe Pace; one great-grandchild, Neira; and a sister, Betty Bloyd of Redding, California.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 24, 2017, at Woodland Hills Family Church, Branson, Missouri, with Pastor Ted Cunningham officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Don may be made to the Woodland Hills Mercy Fund.
