With a caring nature and ability to talk to anyone, Steve enjoyed fishing, piloting planes, scuba diving, hunting, and camping. He grew up in Billings and was a contract sales manager for lumber.
Steve is survived by his wife Sandy Swift of Kimberling City, Missouri; son Don Swift and wife Becky of Willard, Missouri; son Jeff Swift and wife Jenny of Maplewood, Missouri; daughter Michelle Turner and husband Gary of Republic, Missouri; stepchildren Deborah Allen and husband David of Tipp City, Ohio; LTC Todd Auld and wife Kari of Centreville, Virginia; and 15 grandchildren.
He is also survived by brothers Ted Swift and wife Pat of Warsaw, Missouri; Tom Swift and wife Sharon of Pierce City, Missouri; John Swift and wife Wally of Kimberling City; sisters Janice Fabro and husband Larry of Billings, Missouri; Barbara Dees of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Regina Howell and husband Kenny of Springfield, Missouri; sister-in-law Gayle Chlupach and husband Jerry of Polk City, Iowa; brother-in-law Dr. Robert Good and wife Brenda of Charleston, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 18th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Billings with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
