She enjoyed growing and admiring her flowers, being in the outdoors, and riding on motorcycles. Inside the house she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, watching soap operas, sewing and making clothes, and was an excellent cook. Most of all she dearly loved her family. All who knew her loved her and will greatly miss her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Schwertman, and her grandson, Joseph Kielbasa Jr.
She is survived by seven children: Lavon Maloney and husband Dave from Galena, Missouri, Wanda Kielbasa and husband Joe from Oregon, and Susan Hopper from Texas, Howard Schwertman from Kirbyville, Missouri, Gerda Herrill and husband Ray from Texas, Eddie Schwertman from Kirbyville, Missouri, and Curtis Schwertman from Texas; six grandchildren: Misty, David Jr., Angie, Allison, Dakota, and Johnathon; five great-grandchildren: Tommy, Chris, Sabrina, Ailia, and Connor; one great-great-granddaughter, Elina; two brothers: Dale and Lyle; and three sisters: Carolyn, Helen, and Delores.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Historic Hollister Train Depot and Community Center, 312 Esplanade Drive, Hollister, Missouri.
