Gil proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Greyhound Bus driver for 35 years, retiring in 1986. After retirement, Gil and Mary Lou moved to the Branson area in 1992. They worked 18 years for theaters in Branson, most notably the Osmond family, Joey Riley and others. Gil loved working with people and made lasting friendships. He was a role model for his grandsons, living as a fine example of what a good man should be.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lillian Smith.
Gil is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Lou McCutchan of the home; two sons, Harold “Bob” McCutchan and David (Mary) McCutchan, all of Evansville, Indiana; stepson, Kevin McBride of Crane, Missouri; six grandsons; two stepgrandsons; 15 greatgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Alberta Hinman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a brother, James McCutchan of Houston, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Anita McCutchan of Evansville, Indiana; and the mother of his sons, Mary Dilger of Newberg, Indiana.
