Jack proudly served our country for 23 years in the U.S. Army. He was a Master Sergeant and played the French horn with the 5th Army Band. After retirement, Jack was a horseman, raising Foxtrotters and Tennessee Walkers. With a variety of interests and talents, he was a cribbage champion and ham radio operator. Jack also played the harmonica and was a private pilot who owned 13 planes. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed a variety of professions and trades. He was a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge #131 in Potosi. Most of all, Jack gave his heart to the Lord. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jack is survived by his wife, Joan Jackson; a daughter and son from his first marriage, Sandra Lee Stroup and Robert Lee Jackson; a son, David Rinaldi; a stepdaughter, Susan Reed and husband Dan; seven grandchildren, Suzanne Mayweather, Carolyn Powers, George Jackson, Alex Jackson, Virginia Rinaldi, Natalie Rinaldi and Steven Rinaldi; as well as great-grandchildren and other relatives.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date at Crow Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
