Mary met her loving husband, Ed Ripley in Titusville, Florida in 1961. It was love at first sight. They were married in Folkston, Georgia on April 21, 1962. Mary and Ed moved to California when Ed took a job at Vanderberg Air Force Base. Mary worked as a butcher at the local supermarket. During this time, Ed and Mary were blessed with the birth of their two sons, Steve and Jim. While living in Santa Maria, they met two of their greatest friends, Bill Wells and his sister Maridel, who later became Mary’s sister-in-law. Mary couldn’t have asked for better children or friends.
Mary and Ed left California to spend a year in Bermuda. In 1975, they moved to Branson. Mary enjoyed working as a Realtor and was an avid quilter. She made hundreds of quilts for her family and friends. Mary will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Louis Junior Young.
Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ed Ripley of the home; two sons, Steve Ripley and wife Heather of Haines, Alaska, Jim Ripley and wife Stormy of Madison, Alabama; four grandchildren, Garrett, William and Cole Ripley of Haines, Alaska, and Shane Ripley of Madison, Alabama; two brothers, Jerry Young and wife Antonia of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Rick Young and wife Cindy of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas; four sisters, Anne Young of Kansas City, Missouri, Mennie Hightower of Titusville, Florida, Thelma Thomas of Shawnee, Kansas, and Violet Baldridge of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held from 6:00-9:00 pm Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Club Roark, 403 N. Veterans Blvd, Branson, Missouri 65616 with burial at a later date in England Cemetery, Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Mary may be made to the family.
