A lifelong learner and voracious reader, Mary especially enjoyed history and biographies. She was a member of a book club and the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution.) She also studied genealogy, loved traveling, had a special eye for decorating, and collected primitive antiques. Known for her variety of interests, Mary enjoyed singing, performing in theater, and showing people around the Tri-lakes area. Mary loved her cat, Pretty Girl. She was very involved in the Community Presbyterian Church of Forsyth, Missouri, and with friends and family. A truly remarkable woman, Mary will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim Parr.
Survivors include two daughters: Karen Palone and Kim Perry and husband Rick, all of Santa Maria, California; a son, Kenneth Robert Dysart, Jr. of Ventura County, California; two grandchildren: Danielle Palone and Erik Rowe; a brother, Glen Taylor and wife Kay of Texas; two sisters: Freda Hankins of Quincy, Illinois, and Barbara Hammon and husband Ken of Naperville, Illinois; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Forsyth, Missouri, with Pastor Phyllis Winzenried and Pastor Dennis Winzenried officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Community Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 486, Forsyth, Missouri 65653.
