Maxine was known for her ability to remember everyone’s birthday and anniversary with a greeting card and beautiful penmanship. If she had met you and like you, you could expect a Christmas card. She would receive over 300 cards each year in return. Maxine was an accomplished seamstress and continued making alterations well into her 80’s. She loved to cross stitch. Many of these works hang on the wall of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved playing cards with her family, especially Rummy. Most of all, Maxine loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Don Wallace; a sister, Jean O’Hearn; and her son, Charles Castle.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 47 years, Eugene Veselits; her children, James Castle and wife Cathy of Greenville, South Carolina, Marsha Moblo and husband John of Kimberling City, Missouri, and Nancy Castle of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Maxines’ wishes, no services are planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to Access Hospice Care, 1440 State Hwy 248, Ste. D, Branson, Missouri 65616.
