Ray lived in southern California for 20 years and was a self-employed Plumbing and Ceramic Tile Contractor. In 1990, he moved to Missouri to expand his ministry. He was appointed as an elder on February 2, 2002. Ray retired from plumbing in 2005 to enjoy the outdoors, especially camping, and to pursue his ministry work as a baptized publisher of the Good News of God’s Kingdom. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ray is survived by his wife of 22 years, Susan Burke of the home; a son, Justin Burke (and wife Laura) of San Bernardino, California; a daughter, Stacey (Burke) Lauger of Salida, California; four grandchildren, Jonathan Lauger, Kenna Lauger, Ian Burke and Taylor Burke; a sister, Sue (Burke) Bergmann of Des Moines, Iowa; two nephews, Ronald Bergmann and John Bergmann; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 3rd at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Branson, Missouri, with Ken Welsh officiating.
