Richard served our nation in the United States Navy. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and tractor pulls. Richard was a big fan of Missouri sports including the Chiefs, Royals, and the Missouri Tigers. Most of all, Richard Pieratt loved his family and he will be missed by them and everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Pieratt; two brothers, David Pieratt and Michael Pieratt; as well as a son-in-law, Bruce Pomeroy.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon Pieratt of the home; two daughters, SMSGT Lisa Pomeroy of South Korea, Denise Hires and husband Robert of McDonough, Georgia; five grandchildren, Tyler and Emmalyn Pomeroy, Eli, Alyssa and Matthew Hires; a sister, Janet Flanders of Raytown, Missouri; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Grace Community Assembly with Pastor David Betzer officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later time at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
