Known for her loving heart, Thelma was generous, responsible, accepting and loving. Her hobbies included growing flowers, cooking and caring for her family. Thelma will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Norm Davis; two brothers; and seven sisters.
Thelma is survived by her children, Daniel Connor of Branson, Missouri; Juanita Davis of Hollister, Missouri; Rodger Connor and spouse Ruth of Owensboro, Kentucky; and Gregory Bruce Wallace and spouse Hoang of San Diego, California. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shaheen Plunier and spouse J.P., Hamid Davis and spouse Wing Shan, Dana Murphy and spouse Mark, Tina Connor, and Clinton Connor and spouse Tori; stepgrandchildren, Gloria DeVoe and spouse Don, Connie Davis, and Danny Davis and spouse Karen; great-grandchildren, Felix, Loic, Liam, Easton, Athan, Mikayla, Shannon, Kaelen, Isaiah, Kaleb, Jessica, Jordan, Lillian and Grant; stepgreat-grandchildren, Sarah and spouse Matt; stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Owen, Eloise and Phoebe; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Thelma Downs will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Pines Community Christian Church in Blue Eye, Missouri, with Pastor Kevin Green officiating. In spring of 2017, she will be placed with her parents at Alto Pass Cemetery in Alto Pass, Illinois.
